I. PROFILE

In the rapid development of electronic information age, the recording, inheritance and realization of original music sound has gradually transitioned from the traditional form of writing paper version music score and music performance to the contemporary form of writing electronic version music score, electronic music production, music performance and recording. In talent training, it is necessary to adjust and transform from the traditional "composer" training mode to the contemporary "musician" training mode.

The music department is adhering to this thinking, adopting the elite education mode, conscientiously carrying out the guiding principle of "specialized education, professional training, individualized training, market-oriented docking ", and making our department a cradle for the cultivation of outstanding contemporary musicians through a series of measures, such as teaching, scientific research, creation, participation, communication, performance, media broadcasting, and highlighting and publicizing the teaching and research activities organized by the subject specialty through news reports.

Recording art major of Hebei University of Science and Technology established in 2004. In 2012, the recording art major was further divided into two major directions: music recording and film and television recording.

The Department of Music is committed to the development of moral, intellectual and physical integrity, with a comprehensive artistic quality of music creation, production and recording, and is able to engage in music sound design, creation, production, editing, recording and education in radio, television, film, advertising, audio and video, network industry systems, cultural and artistic departments, literary and artistic groups and schools. At present, two graduates have been trained in the direction of music recording,  whom have been admitted to graduate students, and other students have entered the above counterparts to work, and the employment rate has reached more than 90%.

II. Professional development

1. teaching resources

My department is rich in teaching resources and superior teaching conditions. At present, there are 1 music studio ,3 MIDI classrooms ,4 student studios ,1 electric steel classroom and 1 electric band rehearsal room.

2. Teacher Structure

The music department currently has 8 full-time teachers. Among them 3 associate professor, 5 lecturers , have doctor's degree, post-doctoral research experience 1 person, master's degree 7 people, many of them graduates from the key conservatoire of our contury.

3. Teaching Management System

The music department has a perfect teaching management system, and has formulated a series of systems, such as daily teaching management system, concert and research report management system, graduation design management system, leave system, evaluation system and so on.

4. Training Programme

Since it is a new professional direction, the training program has been stable since it was formulated (2012) and has been adjusted and revised many times over several years. During the period of continuous exploration of new ideas and methods of teaching reform, created a "decentralized" practice series of teaching —— Music creation practice premiere series of concerts, music performance practice series of concerts, collection of wind series of research reports, personality education series of research reports assigned to different semesters and stages, created the application of talent training undergraduate teaching characteristics.

Using more than 20 books of the most authoritative textbooks in the field of music, including academic monographs published by teachers of our department (such as Zhang Youchuan's course of Modern Harmony Analysis Jilin University Press 2015.6), is a successful case of combining scientific research projects with teaching in our department.

III. Curriculum

Music Department aims to music creation, music production and music recording as the main line of business training. By focusing on cultivating students' artistic thinking and innovation ability in composition, music production and music recording technology, students can have the comprehensive quality of designing, creating, producing, recording and editing all kinds of music works independently.

On this main line, students will have strong professional skills and qualities in creating, producing, recording and editing various types of music independently through the orderly conduct of various basic professional training —— including the four major parts of composition techniques, musical style modeling, contemporary composition techniques, composition, music production, music recording techniques, etc. The students' comprehensive cultivation of music, art and culture will be comprehensively improved by offering basic theoretical knowledge closely related to the subject —— including Chinese and Western music history, film history, professional English and other subjects. By arranging a large number of practical links —— such as music performance practice, styles, creative practices, personality education, professional practice, graduation design and other practical courses, to cultivate students' practical ability and innovative thinking. The main form of teaching achievement report in this major is to hold concerts and research reports, including performance concerts, original works concerts, wind collection reports, etc. At present, it has accumulated more fruitful results and cultivated students' teamwork and organizational ability.
